Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 16 ounces ground sirloin
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 2 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2teaspoon pepper
Steps:
- Heat the canola oil and chopped onion in a 12 inch skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up the meat into smaller chunks
- Optional: drain the grease from the meat
- Stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute
- Add the tomato sauce
- Turn the heat to low and simmer the meat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Serve in taco shells with your choice of toppings
Results:
This was really good, although, once I was done I realized that I forgot to put in the coriander. It was still tasty though. I served it with yellow corn tacos and home made guacamole :)
